Real-time Availability in Westminster

AppyParking displays real-time parking availability across 3,000 bays in Westminster. Using data from sensors in these bays, AppyParking's smartphone app shows drivers the real-time availability of spaces in the area.

Westminster City Council sees the huge advantages in this technology. According to Heather Acton, Westminster City Council cabinet member for parking, real-time sensors have "changed the way parking operates in the city".

Real-time Availability in Coventry

Coventry City Council joins the smart city elite by rolling out real-time sensors along three of its busiest streets and across all 36 of its disabled bays. The real time data is being used to help them understand parking bay usage and local shoppers can benefit from immediately finding available bay using AppyParking's free app and website.

Parking is the second highest revenue generator for city councils, yet some councils can lose up to 40% revenues through inefficiencies. Coventry found that their paid bays were vacant 33% of the time between 8am and 6pm, amounting to £475,000 annual lost revenue. Coventry will now be able to make informed decisions to improve parking efficiency and revenues.
